about Busselton

Busselton is a city on the southwest tip of Western Australia. It's known for its sheltered beach and seasonal humpback whale populations. The beachfront features the 19th-century Busselton Jetty. This wood pier stretches nearly 2km to the Underwater Observatory, where life in a coral reef is on view. To the city's northeast, the towering tuart trees of Tuart Forest National Park are home to 2 species of possum.

Our tour begins with a scenic estuary drive out of Mandurah. You’ll need walking shoes for some light exercise, as we pay a visit to some pre-historic living rocks! The fascinating thrombolites are the oldest known living bacterial life form, surviving after millions of years of existence.

We rejuvenate on our stop for morning tea at a quirky café before heading to enjoy the iconic Busselton Jetty; It’s an unprecedented opportunity to walk or train from the sheltered shore to almost 2 kms out into Geographe Bay. Included in your tour is a visit to the amazing underwater observatory, the museum and, if time permits, you can explore more of Bussleton. We lunch at a modern waterfront venue, with an upbeat vibe and outdoor seats with a spectacular view of the waterfront.


Then off we head to one of the most spectacular and photographed sights of the northern Cape. Sugarloaf Rock's lookout point is an impressive and spectacular ocean view and a must see! It's a popular spot to see Humpback and Southern Right Whales during the migration season, dolphins and seabirds. Pack your binoculars!

On your visit to the Busselton Jetty, you will have an opportunity to visit the observatory and see life in a coral reef on view! Surviving cyclone Alby in 1978, weathering several fires and threats of demolition, the Busselton Jetty boasts one of only 6 underwater observatories in the world! 

The calm beaches of the Bay are protected from prevailing winds, and are popular with swimmers, fishermen, scuba divers and snorkellers. If time permits, take a dip!

Busselton is the largest population centre in the Margaret River Region and the townsite provides excellent shopping and service facilities. Perhaps pick up a souvenir? 

Bird watchers, sea-life observers and nature appreciators will all be catered for with our visit to the Cape Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park and Sugarloaf Rock. You'll see some of the most spectacular natural scenery in Australia, and capture amazing Epic Day photos to treasure!

Question: What meals are provided on tour?

Answer: All meals as listed in the itinerary are included in the tour price. First stop is morning tea, and a visit to a venue that specialises in fresh food from paddock to plate with an ethos of friendly service and a wonderland of vintage novelties to explore! For lunch our food is focused on the best local market produce. You can enjoy local craft beers or indulge in a cocktail all whilst overlooking the uninterrupted views of Geographe Bay and the Bussleton Jetty.

Question: What if I have special dietary requirements?

Answer: Please advise when booking and we do our best to cater. If you require any particular foods to suit your dietary or religious beliefs you are more than welcome to bring it on tour and store it in our cool box.

Question: What is the luggage allowance?

Answer: One small carry-on bag.

We provide water and cups on the bus though it is advisable to bring a water bottle so you can refill it throughout the day and enjoy having a drink as you walk.

If time permits and you wish to swim in the beautiful Indian Ocean, please bring your swim gear and a towel.

Question: Where is the pick up and what time?

Answer: For local pick up we have convenient door to door service from your address and back to your home, the Mandurah train station, a designated point or you may chose to begin and end your journey from our easily accessible business premises in Erskine, where you can safely park your vehicle.

If your pick up is in Perth city, Perth airport or outside the Mandurah area, your pre-arranged meeting point will be within walking distance of your accommodation. Please be waiting at your allocated location a few minutes prior to your pick up time, this way we can leave on time to arrive at our Epic destinations in time for you to fully enjoy your unique Epic Day Tour.

There is an additional cost for pick up outside the Mandurah area, per group booking.

Your pick up arrangements will be organised with you at the time of booking.
